Hideaways Nantwich Lodge is located in the remote northwestern section of Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park and is one of the safari lodges closest to Victoria Falls. Perched on a ridge overlooking a large, permanent dam, the lodge offers sweeping views across a landscape where hippos, crocodiles and a wide variety of wildlife can regularly be observed. Its location also provides convenient access to Chobe National Park in neighbouring Botswana, making it an excellent base for combined safari itineraries.
Accommodation at Hideaways Nantwich Lodge
This intimate eco-lodge was developed on the site of a former ranger station through the careful restoration of the historic building, which is closely linked to the history of Hwange National Park.
The lodge features nine elegantly appointed rooms, including six Standard Rooms and three Superior Rooms. Four of the rooms are interleading, making them ideal for families or groups travelling together. Each room is equipped with an en-suite bathroom with a shower and double vanity, an outdoor freestanding bathtub, mosquito nets, a safe, and a private veranda overlooking a permanent waterhole, allowing guests to enjoy exceptional wildlife viewing directly from their room. The lodge also offers an inviting lounge and bar area, an infinity pool overlooking the surrounding savannah, and an open fire pit where guests can relax beneath the African night sky.
Activities and tours at Hideaways Nantwich Lodge
Guests can enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, guided bush walks and birdwatching excursions. Night drives on the private concession provide a unique opportunity to observe the behaviour of nocturnal wildlife. The surrounding area is regarded as one of the most game-rich regions of northern Hwange National Park and is particularly renowned for its large herds of elephants and buffalo, as well as excellent lion sightings. Thanks to its peaceful setting away from the park's busier safari routes, Hideaways Nantwich Lodge is an ideal destination for travellers seeking an authentic wilderness experience in an exclusive and intimate atmosphere.
