Luxury camp at the Ngamo Plains in the Hwange National Park
Linkwasha Camp is located in the southeastern part of Hwange National Park on the edge of the renowned Ngamo Plains, one of Zimbabwe's richest wildlife areas. The region is characterised by a diverse landscape of Kalahari sands, open grasslands, teak forests, seasonal pans, and permanent waterholes. Guests at Linkwasha Camp enjoy exclusive access to the private Linkwasha-Makalolo concession, where large herds of antelope graze on the fertile plains and are frequently pursued by southern Africa's iconic predators.
Accommodation at Linkwasha
Nestled beneath the shade of towering leadwood trees, the contemporary safari camp offers nine spacious tented suites, including one family suite. Each accommodation features a comfortable bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, a separate sitting area, and a private veranda overlooking the camp's busy waterhole. The central guest area comprises open-plan lounges and dining spaces that maximise views of the surrounding wildlife. Additional facilities include a bar, a traditional fire pit for evening gatherings, a swimming pool, and a cosy lounge with a fireplace for cooler nights. One of the camp's highlights is the sunken photographic hide at the waterhole, offering exceptional close-up wildlife viewing and outstanding photography opportunities.
Activities and tours at Linkwasha
The varied habitats surrounding the camp provide outstanding opportunities to observe an impressive diversity of wildlife, including large herds of elephants and buffalo, sable and roan antelope, as well as numerous predators. Activities include professionally guided game drives, guided nature walks with experienced guides, birdwatching excursions, and visits to local communities and selected conservation projects.
For many years, Wilderness has been actively committed to wildlife conservation and environmental protection in Hwange National Park. In partnership with the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, the company supports the Scorpion Anti-Poaching Unit, which combats poaching, removes snares, and helps protect endangered wildlife. Wilderness also promotes environmental education programmes and works closely with neighbouring communities to support long-term conservation and sustainable development initiatives.
