Shoestrings is a budget-friendly accommodation that was established in 1997 and has been part of the Bayete Collection since 2021. It has retained its relaxed, welcoming character while combining a lively backpacker atmosphere with modern facilities and a wide range of accommodation options. A strong emphasis is placed on creating an open, social environment where travellers from around the world can easily connect. Regular live music performances, cultural entertainment and events featuring local artists give guests an authentic insight into the vibrant life of Victoria Falls.
Accommodation at Shoestrings
Budget-conscious travellers can choose from three mixed dormitories, including two 10-bed dorms and one smaller 6-bed dorm. Shoestrings also offers 22 comfortably furnished dome tents equipped with single beds, bedside tables, lighting, fans and power outlets. Guests seeking greater privacy can choose from double rooms or a family room accommodating up to four people. The private rooms feature en-suite bathrooms as well as air conditioning or ceiling fans for added comfort, while guests staying in the tents and dormitories have access to modern shared bathroom facilities.
At the heart of the property is a spacious, colourful garden with shaded seating areas, a swimming pool and a generous lounge area. The on-site restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, while the bar is a popular meeting place for both travellers and local residents.
Activities and tours at Shoestrings
A pool table, volleyball court and regular social events create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. An on-site activity desk can arrange a wide variety of adventures around Victoria Falls, including white-water rafting, bungee jumping, wildlife safaris, sunset cruises on the Zambezi River and scenic helicopter flights.
