The five-star Victoria Falls Hotel is the oldest hotel in Zimbabwe and an iconic landmark in the town of Victoria Falls. Its terraces and manicured lawns offer spectacular views of the spray rising from Victoria Falls, the historic Victoria Falls Bridge, and the dramatic Batoka Gorge. The hotel was originally built in 1904 by the British colonial government to accommodate railway workers involved in the construction of the legendary bridge spanning the Zambezi River. During the 1970s, the building was converted into a luxury hotel, and in 2013 it underwent a comprehensive restoration and modernization.
